Ta Cenc

Ta Cenc is a beautiful inlet just to the west of Mgarr ix-Xini on Gozo’s south coast. There are a number of great dive plan options available from the inlet. Also, it is one of the most protected entrance and exit points from a strong north-westerly wind.

Divers will enter the water from the inlet after walking down a set of steps from the car park above. The Water here is usually calm, clear and relatively shallow, making for an easy start to the dive.
The bottom slopes slowly down to around 20m, and if your plan is to follow to the right towards the impressive Ta Cenc cliffs, then there are huge boulders between 20-30m to explore. this wall also leads to a small shallow cavern, a great turning point for the dive.

Alternatively divers can follow the wall to the left, towards Mgarr ix-Xini, where they can find small stingray, flying gurnard and even seahorse on the sandy bottom. Not only is there plenty of marine life to see, but there are 2 small caverns which are cut into the cliffside, making for great natural features on what is usually a beautifully relaxed, slow dive.
