Getting ready for the Gozo feast’s 2025

Summer is here, and with that comes festa season, the heart and soul of the Gozitan calendar. Our little island bursts into life with its traditional village feasts, or festas, honouring patron saints with a vibrant mix of religious devotion and local celebration. Held between May and September, each village takes its turn transforming into a festival of color, music, and fireworks.

Each feast centers on a solemn religious celebration, featuring beautifully adorned churches, special masses, and processions with statues of the saints. Yet the spiritual is joyfully paired with the social—marching bands parade the streets, elaborate fireworks light up the sky, and villages are festooned with lights and decorations.
