Alex Cave

Alex Cave is a dive site which sits nestled between the islands of Comino and its even smaller neighbour, Cominotto.
Due to the location it offers an extremely protected entry and exit area, making it a great option to dive in Comino even on days where the wind is not favourable for most sites.

Divers enter the water in the shallow passageway between the two islands and offers an extremely scenic view from the surface. Once underwater you will follow the passageway ‘into’ Cominotto, finding a hole which takes divers through a swim through, which creates a magical effect as sunlight passes through, out into the open water.

Once out in the open, there are many animals to find hiding amongst the boulders that line the coast or within the rugged wall itself. After around 20 minutes following the wall, divers arrive at Alex Cave, a large cavern which was cut out through waves over centuries. You can swim in quite a distance, so it is worth to bring a torch as the cave becomes darker the further you venture inside.
The view out is spectacular and divers will enjoy the bright blue, clear water silhouetted by the mouth of the cave.

Then comes the swim back to the boat, making the same route as the way to the cave. As the dive is shallow, with a maximum of around 15m, there should be plenty of time to explore as air consumption should not be a huge issue.
